09/07/2019

Ramírez de Haro takes over from Fernando Quicios, who is returning to the Madrid office after launching the London office in 2014

Álvaro Ramírez de Haro has been appointed as the new resident partner at Pérez-Llorca’s London office, replacing Fernando Quicios, who was responsible for opening and developing this office from 2014, and who is returning to the Madrid office having completed his time in the city.

Ramírez de Haro, who holds a degree in law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa, joined Pérez-Llorca in 2006 and has extensive experience advising major clients and private equity funds on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Ramírez de Haro will lead the London office from 1 September, and will continue to strengthen Pérez-Llorca’s relationship with British funds and companies, as well as major law firms established there. “Our clients are looking for comprehensive advice, and the London office plays a key role in the firm’s ability to provide this service. The objective is to further develop this connection between Spain and the UK, and strengthen ties with major investors located in London,” explains Álvaro Ramírez de Haro.

Fernando Quicios is returning to the Madrid office, having spent five years in London, and will continue to advise domestic and foreign clients on their M&A, project financing and restructuring transactions.

Fernando, who has more than 20 years of experience in the legal sector, has participated in some of the most significant transactions of the last decade. His work has been recognised by the international directories Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers®, in areas such as Corporate/M&A, Restructuring & Insolvency and Banking & Finance. “I am honoured that the firm gave me the opportunity and trusted me to open Pérez-Llorca’s first office abroad. This experience has enabled me to grow professionally and personally, and I have seen how the work of all the lawyers in London the office, with the support received by the team in Spain, has helped to consolidate the firm’s position on the international market.”

Pérez-Llorca is maintaining its international presence, which was first established with the office in London and then by its office in New York, which opened in 2015.
