Pérez-Llorca has appointed Fernando Cerdá Albero as Of Counsel to strengthen the Commercial Law and Litigation and Arbitration practices of its Barcelona office.
With over 30 years of teaching experience and more than a decade practising law, Cerdá, with a Doctorate in Law from the University of Bologna, is a professor of Commercial Law at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and, prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, was a partner of one of Spain’s leading law firms.
Fernando Cerdá is specialised in Commercial Law, Corporate Law and Insolvency Law. Over the course of his career he has worked with domestic and international clients, defending their interests in complex corporate restructurings, as well as in commercial, corporate and administrative legal proceedings, especially in litigation related to directors’ liability, challenging corporate resolutions, structural modifications, corporate transactions, competition matters and insolvency proceedings.
He is the author of numerous books and research papers on subjects related to his main areas of specialisation, published in Spain, Germany and Italy. He is a regular lecturer on these subjects at specialist courses, postgraduate programmes and conferences.
His work has been recognised by Best Lawyers®, who named him Lawyer of the Year in Barcelona in 2015 for the practice of ‘Insolvency and Reorganisation Law’. Likewise, this directory has included him in the categories of ‘Arbitration’, ‘Restructuring and Insolvency’ and ‘Litigation’.
