On 22 March 2024, the text of the Draft Organic Law on the efficiency of the public service of justice and actions for the protection and defence of the rights and interests of consumers and users (the “Draft”) was published in the Official Gazette of the Spanish Parliament. This Legal Briefing addresses the new procedural regime for collective actions that the Draft Law seeks to introduce, which is the complete transposition of the European Union Directive 2020/1828 of 25 November 2020 on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers (the “Directive”).
