About

Hugo leads the Business Development, Marketing and Communication department. He is an attorney with more than 15 years of experience working in the US, Europe and Latin America for a wide range of clients ranging from individuals and SMEs to regional and global corporations. His focus is on understanding clients’ needs and designing business and legal consulting strategies seeking to solve their challenges.

Experience

Early in his career, he collaborated as in-house counsel for one of the largest industrial real estate developers in Mexico. Subsequently, he worked in the legal services and investment funds industry in London. He has held various leadership positions relating to business development, litigation finance, financial services, global mobility and government relations. In his seven years in the UK, Hugo gained valuable international experience in handling global initiatives and complex legal matters, particularly in commercial litigation and antitrust matters. Prior to joining GC, he managed numerous legal projects in Miami and Brazil.

Hugo has extensive experience in building teams from the ground up, particularly in business development matters, and frequently takes the lead on relevant issues with key industry players, including relationships with various law firms around the world. He is a strong advocate for the role that business professionals play in the legal sector and has experience in legal operations and strategies spanning a wide range of sectors and clients. Hugo is currently co-editor of The Legal Industry Reviews in Mexico, one of the most prestigious legal publications in the world.
