We are pleased to announce that our founding partner, Enrique González Calvillo, has been named President of the Board of Trustees of the Mexican Bar Foundation (“FBM”).
Yesterday, December 3, 2020, the protest took place at the Industrial Club of Mexico City, making her appointment official, along with the new members of the Board of Trustees, Mariana Benítez Tiburcio, Georgina Avilés Iracheta and Teresa Fernández Labardini.
This event was attended by representatives of the FBM and the Mexican Bar Association (BMA), including the outgoing president of the board José Luis Nassar, Dolores Aguinaco Bravo, outgoing Vice President of the FBM, Héctor Herrera, President of the BMA, Claudia de Buen Unna, First Vice President of the BMA, Víctor Oléa Pelaéz, Second Vice President of the BMA, as well as other representatives of the FBM and the BMA.
The immediate past president of the FBM Board of Trustees, José Luis Nassar, was in charge of announcing our founding partner, Enrique González Calvillo as incoming President of the FBM Board of Trustees.
The appointment of our partner is a new opportunity to strengthen this institutional relationship and to launch a focus of attention on the rule of law in the FBM, which is expected to boost its activity as one of the most important civil associations in Mexico.

The FBM was born under the auspices of the BMA and was conceived in 2002, as an initiative to bring the legal profession closer to those most in need, becoming one of the most important pro bono work projects in Mexico and Latin America… In order to professionalize the funding of the foundation and thus fulfill its important work, the FBM Board of Trustees was created, with the participation of a group of distinguished lawyers, members of some of the most important law firms in Mexico City and the interior of the Republic.
