Head of Financial Accounting and Taxation

We are looking for a Head of financial accountig and taxation for our office in Mexico.

Requirements

  • Certified public accountant of Mexico.
  • ACCA Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • More than six years of Big 4 audit experience (manager level or equivalent).
  • More than two years of experience in reporting to a European parent company (preferably Spanish).
  • Experience as a Business Partner.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP accounting skills, experience with SAP 4/Hana would be an asset.
  • A medium level of English.

 

Functions

  • Preparing financial statements and reports under Mexican and group accounting principles.
  • Ensuring that all provisions and accounting adjustments are properly calculated and recorded.
  • Monitoring all accounts, books and reporting systems within established deadlines and ensuring compliance with appropriate financial and regulatory standards.
  • Assisting the local team to identify and implement process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce processing time and decrease error rates, particularly those relating to accounting, monthly and annual closings, conciliations, reports, etc.
  • Participating in the preparation of tax assessments.
  • Providing technical leadership for team members.
  • Collaborating in the process of auditing the external accounts of the Mexican company/companies and supporting the process of auditing the parent company’s consolidated accounts.

Internal & External Communications Executive

We are looking for an Internal and External Communications Executive for our office in Mexico

Description

We are looking for an Internal and External Communications Executive for our Mexico office, reporting to the firm’s Head of Communications, who will have the following responsibilities:

 

 

Internal Communications

  • Developing the internal communications plan for the firm in Mexico.
  • Implementing internal communications measures in coordination with all departments involved.
  • Managing internal communications tools.

 

External Communication

  • Collaborating with the preparation and execution of the Corporate Communications plan for Mexico.
  • Handling relationships with national Mexican and international media outlets.
  • Developing external communications content and supporting the creation of content for social networks.
  • Managing press releases, interviews, opinion articles and other content with specific and general national, Mexican and international media.

 

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Marketing or Public Relations.
  • Experience: at least eight years handling similar responsibilities in law firms, companies or communication agencies.
  • Knowledge of financial communications would be an asset.
  • High level of English (C1) and good command of Microsoft Office software.

Legal Director

We are looking for a Legal Director in Mexico to report to the Chief Legal Officer in Spain and to manage the legal risk of the firm in Mexico.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law (Mexico).
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a legal director in a multinational company. Experience with Spain is an asset.

 

Functions

  • Legal risk management;
  • Drafting and reviewing all types of contracts, agreements, etc. as well as all types of legal documentation;
  • Managing external advisors;
  • Managing, alongside the Administration Department, out-of-court procedures for claiming invoices;
  • Controlling corporate matters;
  • Insurance and risk management;
  • Collaborating with the Compliance Officer on internal and regulatory compliance procedures;
  • Data protection.

Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Technical Unit

We are looking for a Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Technical Unit for our Mexico office.

Requirements

•    Degree in Law.
•    Experience as a compliance officer, with at least 10 years in the sector.
•    Experience as a compliance officer in regulated sectors (financial institutions and/or insurance companies) would be an asset.

 

Functions

•    Carrying out the responsibilities of a compliance officer;
•    Being responsible for anti-money laundering compliance management;
•    Monitoring, updating and complying with the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Manual (“Manual”);
•    Being answerable to the national authority (Financial Intelligence Unit) and liaison with said authority;
•    Reporting monthly notices to the national authority;
•    Creating unique records for each client/matter, in accordance with the applicable regulations and the Manual;
•    Liaising with partners and clients, where appropriate, in order to gather the necessary information to be able to open matters;
•    Managing external anti-money laundering auditors; and
•    Managing ethical conflicts between different partners (reporting to the CLO).

We are looking for a Secretary for the Mexico City office.

Requirements

  • High level of English
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a similar position.

Functions

  • Reception: answering phone calls, attending to visits, management of meeting rooms.
  • Administrative work: photocopying, scanning, binding, Excel files, PPT presentations, Word documents…
  • Agenda management: purchasing tickets, booking hotels, resolving possible problems.
  • Invoicing: managing purchase orders, following up on invoices, liaising with the accounting department, inputting lawyers’ hours in the system.
