Energy Regulatory Commission issues Agreement that reinstates asymmetric regulation applicable to first-hand sales and marketing carried out by Pemex.

October 18, 2023^.- On May 19, 2021, the “Decree reforming the Thirteenth Transitory Article of the Hydrocarbons Law, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation. the Federation on August 11, 2014” (the “Decree”).

(“CRE”) to subject Petróleos Mexicanos (“Pemex”) or its subsidiary organizations to asymmetric regulation (that different norms, standards or requirements apply to different entities, industries or activities according to specific characteristics or circumstances) that regulates sales first-hand of hydrocarbons, petroleum or petrochemicals (“VPM”), as well as the marketing of VPM carried out by persons controlled by Pemex or its subsidiaries.
