Treasury Announces the Launch of the Sustainable Financing Mobilization Strategy in Mexico.

September 21, 2023.- The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (“SHCP”) presented the Sustainable Financing Mobilization Strategy for Mexico (the “Strategy”). This is a financial public policy guide that seeks to lay the foundations for the mobilization of sustainable financing for Mexico, as well as accelerate actions to meet the UN’s environmental commitments and 2030 sustainable development goals.

The Strategy is presented after the presentation of the Sustainable Taxonomy of Mexico last March by the SHCP, an instrument used as a public financial policy whose objective is the classification of sustainable activities and encourage the process of rating investments with a sustainability perspective.

The Strategy is divided into three fundamental pillars of which points are described that each one includes paragraphs below. However, in general these include: 1) sustainable public financial management; 2) the mobilization of sustainable financing; 3) covers transversal actions focused on promoting gender equality.
