Head of Financial Accounting and Taxation

We are looking for a Head of financial accountig and taxation for our office in Mexico.

Requirements

  • Certified public accountant of Mexico.
  • ACCA Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • More than six years of Big 4 audit experience (manager level or equivalent).
  • More than two years of experience in reporting to a European parent company (preferably Spanish).
  • Experience as a Business Partner.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP accounting skills, experience with SAP 4/Hana would be an asset.
  • A medium level of English.

 

Functions

  • Preparing financial statements and reports under Mexican and group accounting principles.
  • Ensuring that all provisions and accounting adjustments are properly calculated and recorded.
  • Monitoring all accounts, books and reporting systems within established deadlines and ensuring compliance with appropriate financial and regulatory standards.
  • Assisting the local team to identify and implement process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce processing time and decrease error rates, particularly those relating to accounting, monthly and annual closings, conciliations, reports, etc.
  • Participating in the preparation of tax assessments.
  • Providing technical leadership for team members.
  • Collaborating in the process of auditing the external accounts of the Mexican company/companies and supporting the process of auditing the parent company’s consolidated accounts.
