Carlos is an associate in the International Arbitration practice in the New York office. He joined Pérez-Llorca after completing his LL.M. studies at Harvard Law School and was part of the arbitration, energy and infrastructure teams of two globally renowned international law firms. His experience focuses on energy, construction and post-M&A disputes and regulatory matters, as well as international investment protection law.
Studies:
He speaks Spanish and English, and also has knowledge of German.
Experience
Carlos has experience in international arbitration, both commercial and investment, in various sectors; mainly energy, construction and post-M&A.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Carlos worked in the arbitration, energy and infrastructure teams of two globally renowned international law firms. Carlos has participated in international arbitrations as party representative, administrative secretary and assisting legal experts. He has also advised global infrastructure and energy companies on regulatory matters and has been involved in white collar crime detection investigations.
Academic and publishing collaborations
ICC Mexico published the article written by Carlos entitled “Rescisión administrativa en la Ley de Hidrocarburos desde la óptica del capítulo 14 del T-MEC”, in Guideline 99 (March 2022).
Carlos was a lecturer at two executive courses on Mexican energy law with the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities at CU Denver Business School.
