Profile
Luis is an Associate of Pérez-Llorca’s Insurance and Reinsurance practice. Prior to this, he worked at a prestigious international firm specialised in insurance and reinsurance.

Experience
Luis specialises in insurance and reinsurance regulation, corporate, insurance distribution and pension plans and funds. He mainly advises insurance companies and distributors, both domestic and international, on regulatory aspects of the insurance sector, including the design of complex insurance distribution structures, the design and negotiation of all types of contracts related to insurance distribution, as well as on the preparation of files and applications for authorisations before the Directorate-General for Insurance and Pension Funds.
From a regulatory point of view, Luis has been involved in providing corporate and regulatory advice to companies, including the design of insurance products and their adaptation to Spanish law (including D&O, cyber risks, financial lines, accident, health, casualty, energy and construction, etc.) and advice for starting insurance activity under the freedom to provide services and the right of establishment in Spain.
From a M&A and corporate perspective, Luis has been involved in some of the most significant transactions in the Spanish insurance sector, including the sale and purchase of large life and non-life insurance companies and cross-border portfolio transfers. He also has extensive expertise in of transactional risks insurance, including support for W&I underwriting, contingent insurance risks and claims handling.
Luis has also participated in inspection procedures before the supervisor, preparing responses to different official notarial notifications, communications and consultations, as well as in the improvement of the governance system of insurance and reinsurance companies in our country. He also has extensive knowledge of the regulations related to the process of contracting insurance services remotely.
