As part of the measures adopted to alleviate the economic effects of COVID-19, on 1 June 2021 the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 28 May 2021 was published, approving the implementation and the terms and conditions of the sixth tranche of the ICO guarantee facility. This sixth tranche is for EUR 15 billion, and is intended to guarantee debt (in particular, that arising from new investments) granted to self-employed individuals, SMEs and larger companies by certain regulated financial entities. Up to EUR 10 billion will be distributed to SMEs and the self-employed, and up to EUR 5 billion will be distributed to companies that do not qualify as SMEs.
