Key aspects of the climate change and energy transition act

The BOE of 21 May 2021 published Law 7/2021, of 20 May, on climate change and energy transition. The Act, as stated in its explanatory memorandum, aims to achieve carbon neutrality in Spain before 2050 through net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, and an efficient and renewable energy system. It also seeks to facilitate a just transition to a low-carbon economy and ensure consistency with public and private sector objectives.
