Pérez-Llorca appoints Ildefonso Arenas as Banking & Finance Partner

His expertise will add to the rapidly-growing practice area led by Ander Valverde

Pérez-Llorca announced today the hiring of Ildefonso Arenas as the new Partner of the Banking & Finance Practice at the firm.

Arenas has previously worked at prestigious international firms and has 14 years of experience in finance law. Before joining Pérez-Llorca, Arenas worked in the Financing and Projects department at an international firm, where he advised financial institutions, debt funds, private equity entities and large corporations on negotiating different types of national and international transactions. Arenas has experience advising on syndicate and bilateral financing, including acquisition finance, real estate finance, corporate finance, project finance, issuance of bonds with private placement, restructurings, distressed debt situations and direct lending.

He holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School.

Arenas, who will form part of the team led by Ander Valverde, joins the five new partners appointed in January: Fernando Bedoya, Beatriz García, Javier Gómez, Pedro Marques da Gama and José Suárez. This also coincides with the expansion of the firm’s headquarters in Madrid; while retaining its headquarters at Castellana 50, from autumn the firm will also occupy a floor of the Torre Foster in the Cuatro Torres Business Area.
