02/04/2014

Adriana de Buerba, Partner of White Collar Crime at Pérez-LLorca, has been recognized in the Client Choice Awards organized by the British publication International Law Office (ILO).

De Buerba, partner of the White Collar Crime practice area at Pérez-Llorca and Public Prosecutor on leave of absence, was the exclusive winner of the White Collar Crime category for Spain. She will receive the award on 7 May in London. These awards recognize those law firms and partners who show excellence in their care for clients and the outstanding services they provide as well as the unique added value they contribute. Another unique feature of these awards is that the winners are nominated and chosen by their clients, which sets their work apart even further.

Adriana de Buerba joined Pérez-Llorca in 2008 as head of the White Collar Crime practice at the firm, after having been a Public Prosecutor for 10 years. Two years after joining the firm, in 2010, she was promoted to partner of the same practice. De Buerba has participated in many criminal proceedings regarding corporate crime, tax evasion, workplace accidents, fraud, fraudulent conveyance and fraudulent bankruptcy. She has acknowledged expertise in the field of international judicial cooperation due to her participation in many transnational criminal investigations involving requests for international mutual legal assistance. In addition, she is also an expert in extradition and European arrest warrant proceedings. Her team advises a number of companies on corporate compliance.

This award for De Buerba is on top of the “40 Under Forty” award she received in 2011, which is organized by the magazine Iberian Lawyer, and in addition to her being recommended by a number of different legal directories such as Chambers Europe for Corporate Crime and Best Lawyers in the practice areas of Criminal Defense and Arbitration and Mediation.
