The international legal services firm will support the “Pérez-Llorca Haydn Quartet”

With the aim of promoting the training of young professional musicians and contributing to the promotion of culture, Pérez-Llorca and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía have signed a collaboration agreement.

This afternoon, Paloma O’Shea, Founding President of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, and Pedro Pérez-Llorca, Senior Partner of Pérez-Llorca, signed a collaboration agreement which will see the law firm become involved in the work of the Escuela Reina Sofía, a musical institution of great international prestige, based in Madrid. The event was also attended by the school’s Director General, Julia Sánchez, and the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility Director, Isabel Jiménez.

For the Escuela Reina Sofía, this agreement is part of its proactive policy of creating alliances with major prestigious organisations and institutions that help it to develop and extend its mission of supporting talented young people in their personal and artistic development and bringing the best music to all audiences.

Through this agreement, Pérez-Llorca will support the creation of a chamber ensemble within the Escuela Reina Sofía that will bear the firm’s name from the current academic year 2023-2024: the “Pérez-Llorca Haydn Quartet”. This agreement underlines the importance of ensemble music in the training of a musician as an indispensable complement to their skills as a soloist and orchestral player. The signing of this agreement also underlines Pérez-Llorca’s commitment to shared values such as quality, talent and inclusion, as well as its commitment to the development of the arts and music.

The performers who make up the Pérez-Llorca Haydn Quartet in the 2023/2024 academic year are: Cecilia Novella, violin; Jimena Rojas, violin; Adriana Snape, viola and Alba Urbano, cello.

Pedro Pérez-Llorca, the firm’s senior partner, has also joined the Board of Trustees of the Escuela Reina Sofía, the highest representative body of this professional centre.

At the signing ceremony Paloma O’Shea, founding president of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, wanted to emphasise that: “Since the opening of the Escuela Reina Sofía we have been working to support the young artists of the future, both in their personal growth and in their artistic progress. We give them the opportunity to study with great international teachers and to perform in important music halls as we consider the stage as an extension of the classroom. This quartet, supported by Pérez-Llorca, will provide valuable experience to its members, who will gain an understanding of the importance of chamber music as they become part of an ensemble in which they must develop interaction and coordination with the other performers”.

Pedro Pérez-Llorca, Pérez-Llorca’s senior partner, added: “This collaboration with the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía brings together two of the firm’s core values: firstly, our duty to help young people in their training and professional growth and, secondly, our commitment to promoting and supporting cultural initiatives. We are honoured that with this initiative we are contributing to the progress of this group of young talents and to the development of the arts and music”.
