Pérez-Llorca and Legora (formerly Leya), a Swedish collaborative AI workspace for lawyers, have signed a strategic agreement to advise companies in Spain and Portugal on the integration of advanced artificial intelligence solutions into their legal structures.
This collaboration, a first in the Iberian market, combines Pérez-Llorca’s specialised legal advice with Legora’s best-in-class legal AI tools, adapting to the new European AI regulatory framework, approved in 2024 and fully applicable in 2026. The European AI Act positions this technology as a strategic priority for businesses.
In this context, Pérez-Llorca and Legora offer a comprehensive solution that combines specialised legal advice with the technical implementation of artificial intelligence. “This collaboration allows corporations not only to comply with the AI Act, but also to turn AI into a strategic tool for the legal sector,” stated Raúl Rubio, partner of Pérez-Llorca’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice.
The alliance aims to help large companies integrate AI solutions into their legal structures, optimising their efficiency. “Our goal is to lead the transformation of the legal sector, enabling companies to harness the full potential of artificial intelligence,” indicated Andy Ramos, partner of Pérez-Llorca’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice.
Furthermore, confidentiality and information security are fundamental pillars for both Pérez-Llorca and Legora, guaranteeing the protection of sensitive client information throughout the contractual relationship and beyond its conclusion. “Technological innovation must be accompanied by the highest levels of privacy and security protection. This agreement establishes an exemplary model for the legal sector, ensuring that companies can adopt artificial intelligence without compromising the integrity of their data,” said Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, a partner in Pérez-Llorca’s Lisbon office.
With this collaboration, Pérez-Llorca continues its journey towards innovation, integrating advanced technological solutions into its legal practice, while Legora consolidates its role as a standard-bearer in the development of applied technology in the legal sector. “Our mission is to empower exceptional lawyers. By unleashing their expertise to the fullest, true transformation can happen. This partnership allows us to do just that with both Pérez-Llorca lawyers and their clients’ legal teams,” affirmed Max Junestrand, CEO of Legora.
