Pérez-Llorca today announced the addition of Felipe Nazar as a partner in its New York office. Specialising in international disputes, he joins the firm’s global international arbitration team to strengthen the firm’s work on litigation matters in the Americas.
In the words of Félix J. Montero, Litigation and Arbitration partner at Pérez-Llorca, “the addition of Felipe furthers the firm’s international growth strategy. With his arrival, the firm strengthens a strategic area and reinforces the international arbitration practice and the link with Latin American clients”.
Nazar, admitted to the Chilean and New York Bar Associations, has more than fifteen years of experience advising clients on investment planning, contract negotiation and dispute resolution at all stages.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Nazar practised at two leading international law firms in New York and Washington, D.C., and at one of the most prestigious firms in Chile. His experience covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation and arbitration in areas such as post-merger and acquisition adjustments, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, engineering, construction, mining and public concessions. He also advises investors and states on investment arbitrations, particularly in sectors related to energy, infrastructure, insurance, pensions and financial services. Since 2023, he has been a member of the register of foreign arbitrators of the Centro de Conciliación, Arbitraje y Amigable Composición, part of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce.
This new addition strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s global international arbitration team, one of the firm’s major strategic commitments and one of its key areas of growth at the moment. Made up of lawyers of different nationalities, this team has extensive experience advising multinationals in arbitration in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Its members have participated in numerous arbitrations before the main international and national arbitration institutions such as ICC, ICSID, LCIA, CAM Santiago, and the Madrid International Arbitration Centre (MIAC), among others.
Felipe’s addition to the firm is part of the development and expansion of Pérez-Llorca’s New York office, led by partner Javier Gómez, which in the coming months will double its space in the iconic Seagram Building on Park Avenue. The building, designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, has been the operational base of the office since its opening in 2015.
