Pérez-Llorca announced today the hiring of Iván Gayarre as a new partner of the Employment practice area. Gayarre joins the firm’s Madrid office and will work in coordination with the Employment teams located in Barcelona and Lisbon.
Gayarre has almost 25 years of practice in senior positions, both in government agencies and in other law firms. A State Advocate and Inspector of the Services of the General State Administration on leave of absence, until now he was a partner at a well-known Spanish law firm.
Gayarre has extensive experience in all areas of employment relationships, with a particular focus on the execution of complex litigation, collective bargaining and restructuring processes, including insolvency proceedings, in sectors as diverse as the public sector in general, finance, technology, health, education, science and aviation, media, ports and road transport, among others.
He holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies in the “Business Law” doctorate programme from the Universidad de Huelva. He has been a member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation since 2013 and co-director of the Fide Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility and the Law Forum (now ESG) since 2009. He has also completed the Executive Programme on New Technologies at The Valley.
Gayarre also has a strong academic component to his career. He has been a lecturer in Employment and Social Security Law since 2003 at both public and private universities, has authored several publications and is a regular speaker at different courses in both public and private spheres.
