Peña i Bagés holds a degree in Law from Universidad Ramón Llull de Barcelona (ESADE) and a Master’s Degree in Law from the same institution. She has developed her career at various prestigious national and international firms. She is an expert in tax structuring in M&A and real estate transactions, financing of acquisitions and in corporate and financial restructurings. In addition, she has extensive experience in international tax advice and tax proceedings and litigation.
According to Gerard Serra, head of Pérez-Llorca’s Barcelona office, the appointment of Norma Peña i Bagés “is a significant reinforcement of the firm’s Tax team, and also evidences the growth that the Barcelona office has been experiencing since opening in 1995, with results and a volume of work which improve every year”.
Clara Jiménez, the Partner who heads the firm’s Tax practice area, affirmed that “Norma’s appointment will help to develop Pérez-Llorca’s Tax practice area. Pablo Ulecia joined our team in September, and now Norma Peña i Bagés and her proven experience will bolster this area from Barcelona.
In terms of academic contributions, Peña i Bagés has been a lecturer at ESADE, and for the Master’s Degree in International Law at Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE). She has also been involved in the Master’s Degree in Labour Law at the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona.
The addition of Peña i Bagés follows the appointment of Pablo Ulecia as Tax partner in Madrid, of Alfredo Lafita, Javier Carvajal, Pedro Fernández and Ander Valverde, all as Corporate partners in Madrid, and Mercedes Romero as partner of Litigation and Arbitration in Madrid.
