Pérez-Llorca announced today the appointment of Gonçalo Capela Godinho as a partner of the firm. With more than 20 years of experience, Godinho will join the firm to contribute to its international development and to foster relationships with clients and institutions outside Spain, specifically in the Portuguese-speaking markets, with a special focus on Portugal and Brazil.
With experience in the Brazilian, Portuguese, UK and US markets, Godinho will join Pérez-Llorca’s international project, which the firm has been working on for several years and which became a reality in 2015 with the opening of the London and New York offices, continued in 2022 with Brussels, and was further consolidated in 2023 with Singapore.
With this new hire, Pérez-Llorca continues to make progress in its goal of integrating foreign talent into the firm. Specialising in mergers and acquisitions in various sectors, particularly energy and infrastructure, his clients include multinational companies, US firms, funds and investment banks, among others. Until now he was a partner at a well-known Brazilian firm and previously worked in the London and New York offices of a major US law firm. Godinho will combine his work on Pérez-Llorca’s international development project with advising clients on commercial matters in the energy and infrastructure sectors, areas in which he has excelled in recent years, having been involved in some of the most significant transactions in these sectors in Brazil.

Gonçalo Godinho is expected to join the firm in Madrid in July. Subsequently, he will operate from Lisbon, where he will reside. He will continue to hold membership of the bar associations of Madrid, Lisbon and São Paulo.
In addition, as part of Pérez-Llorca’s international strategy, the Firm will double its office space in London and New York.
In London, following its successful move from the City to Mayfair, the district where a large number of the international funds with which the Firm works regularly are located, Pérez-Llorca will double its office space and will occupy two floors in the building located at 17 Hill Street.
In New York, Pérez-Llorca also doubles its office space in the iconic Seagram Building, which is located on Park Avenue and was designed by the architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The Firm has been based in the Seagram Building since the opening of its New York office in 2015.
