Pérez-Llorca has today appointed Manel Hernández as a new partner in the Employment practice area. Hernández will work from the Barcelona office in coordination with the rest of the partners of the firm’s Employment practice located in Madrid, with the aim of creating a team of lawyers in Barcelona and thus developing this area in the Catalan capital.
Hernández has extensive experience in all areas of employment relationships, including handling legal proceedings, providing strategic advice on employment law matters, negotiating in collective disputes, and developing occupational risk prevention plans and equality plans, among other matters.
With almost 30 years of experience, until now he was a partner of a well-known Spanish firm, where he was a member of the Management Committee and Director of the Barcelona office. Prior to this, he worked in his own office, at Caixa Catalunya, at the Catalan Health Institute and at the National Institute of Social Security. Since 2020 he has been featured in Best Lawyers® under Labour and Employment Law in Barcelona.
He holds a degree in Law and a Diploma of Advanced Studies from the Universitat de Barcelona, and a Master’s degree in the Management of Credit Institutions from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He also has specialised training in Productive Decentralisation and Employment Relationships from ESADE.
On the academic side, Hernández has been an associate lecturer on the ESADE Master’s degree for Access to the Legal Profession, on the Master’s degree in Employment Law Consultancy at the Universitat de Barcelona and is currently an associate lecturer at the Universitat de Girona, where he has also taught on its Master’s degree and on the Master’s degree for Access to the Legal Profession.
Luis Enrique Fernández Pallarés, the partner heading Pérez-Llorca’s Employment practice area, has indicated that “with the addition of Manel Hernández, we intend to develop our Employment practice in the Barcelona office at a time when employment relationships are becoming increasingly important in companies. Manel’s experience and knowledge make him the ideal person to take on this project”.
