Pérez-Llorca names four new partners

Rais Amils joins as a partner, Andy Ramos, Cosme Colmenero and Nasif Hamed are promoted as new partners of the Firm, and Adriana Martín as Counsel

Pérez-Llorca has hired Rais Amils as a partner to strengthen the Intellectual Property and Technology practice in the Barcelona office. The addition of Rais is part of the development plan for this practice area, the creation and growth of which are considered strategic for the Firm.

Rais has more than 20 years of experience and has developed her career at a prestigious international firm. She is specialised in intellectual property litigation, mostly representing innovative companies in the pharmaceutical sector in the defence of their patents. She also has experience in trademark, unfair competition and competition law litigation. Rais is recognised as a Notable Practitioner by Euromoney’s IP Stars directory and in Best Lawyers®’s ‘Intellectual Property Law’ and ‘Litigation’ practices.

A graduate in Law from Universidad Pompeu Fabra with a Master’s degree in European Law from the College of Europe, Rais teaches at various educational centres such as the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE) and the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB). In July 2019 she was elected member of the Barcelona Bar Association’s Board of Directors of the Commission for the Defence of Competition and Intellectual Property.

Appointment of three new partners and one counsel

This appointment comes alongside the promotions of Andy Ramos, Cosme Colmenero and Nasif Hamed, who become partners of the firm, and Adriana Martín, as Counsel.

Andy Ramos joined Pérez-Llorca in 2019 and holds a degree in Law from the Universidad de Sevilla and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and Whittier Law School, USA. Andy has extensive experience advising major clients on the identification, protection, transfer and acquisition of intangible assets, including in court proceedings, in relation to software, video games, audiovisual content, music and trade secrets. He is also a speaker at numerous postgraduate programmes and international conferences, author of several publications on Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property, co-founder of the Asociación Española de Derecho del Entretenimiento (DENAE) and member of the Academic Council of the Foundation for Research on Law and Business (FIDE). He has also been recognised by several international directories such as Chambers & Partners in ‘Intellectual Property: Copyrights’ and ‘TMT: Information Technology’; by Legal 500 in ‘Intellectual Property: Copyright’; and in Best Lawyers®where, in addition to being recognised in the practices of ‘Intellectual Property’ and ‘Entertainment Law’, this year he was featured as ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in Madrid in ‘Entertainment Law’, among others.

Cosme Colmenero has a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). Since joining the firm in 2020 to strengthen the financial restructuring and pre-bankruptcy practice, he has advised on restructuring and refinancing transactions, as well as leveraged, corporate and project financings. He has also been featured by Chambers & Partners under ‘Banking & Finance’ and by Best Lawyers®under the categories of ‘Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Law’, ‘Insolvency and Reorganization Law’, ‘Banking and Finance Law’ and ‘Project Finance and Development Practice’.

Nasif Hamed has worked at Pérez-Llorca since 2014 and holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio and a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues. He also completed the International Business Law Program offered by Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Harvard Law School. Nasif has advised on mergers and acquisitions, investment structures and partner agreements, the creation of joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as corporate restructurings, with both private and listed companies and private equity funds, all for different industries. He regularly lectures on commercial law matters for the Master’s degree in Business Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the Master’s degree in Business Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas.

Adriana Martín joined Pérez-Llorca in 2008 in the Barcelona office. Since then, she has advised on a number of real estate transactions and on real estate and commercial due diligence processes for domestic transactions. She holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and a Master’s degree in International Business Law from ESADE. She has also been listed by the legal directory Best Lawyers® for the practice of ‘Corporate and M&A Law’.
