Pérez-Llorca names seven new partners

Pérez-Llorca has announced today the appointment of seven new partners at its offices in Madrid and Barcelona, increasing the total number of partners to 47.

Francisco Iso, who until now was a partner in the Corporate practice and in charge of legal transactions in EMEA at a Big Four firm in Spain, has previously worked at national and international firms in Spain and the United States, and has extensive experience in national and international M&A, private equity and strategic alliances. He holds a Degree in Law from Universidad de Zaragoza, an LL.M. from Cornell Law School, New York, and a Master of Arts (magna cum laude) in International Relations from Marquette University, Milwaukee. He is listed in the area of Corporate/M&A by Chambers & Partners, one of the major international legal directories, and in 2018 he was listed in the practice of ‘Private Equity Law’ in the legal directory Best Lawyers®.

This appointment is in addition to the firm’s internal promotion of Jordi Farrés, Javier Muñoz, Juan Palomino, Laura Pérez, Álvaro Ramírez de Haro and Elena Veleiro to partner.

Jordi Farrés joined Pérez-Llorca in 2006, and holds a Degree in Law from Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona and a Master’s Degree in International Business Law from ESADE. He has extensive national and international experience in all types of M&A, venture capital, project financing and real estate transactions, among other areas. Farrés has been listed in the legal directory Best Lawyers® in the practice of ‘Corporate and M&A Law’ in Barcelona, and has also been included in Legal 500 EMEA in the area of ‘Real Estate and Construction’ as a ‘Next Generation Lawyer’.

Javier Muñoz Méndez joined Pérez-Llorca in 2007 and holds a Degree in Law, with an Academic Achievement Prize for Best Final Transcript, from RCU Escorial-María Cristina, part of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has 12 years of experience advising national and international clients on all types of transactions related to the real estate market, such as sales, project financing, forward funding, sale & leaseback, joint ventures and real estate M&A. Javier Muñoz Méndez has been recognised by Chambers Europe as an ‘Associate To Watch’ in the category of ‘Real Estate’, by Legal 500 EMEA as a ‘Next Generation Lawyer’ in the category of ‘Real Estate and Construction’ and by Best Lawyers® in the category of ‘Real Estate Law’ in Madrid.

Juan Palomino joined Pérez-Llorca in 2008, and holds a Degree in Law, specialising in Business Law from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, and has an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law in California. As part of the firm’s White Collar Crime and Investigations team, he has participated in proceedings and investigations relating to economic crime, extraditions and international mutual legal assistance (MLA) matters. He has also advised clients on corporate compliance in the financial sector. Palomino is in charge of crimes committed via the Internet and which relate to new technologies, and is also an expert in cryptocurrencies. He has been listed by Chambers Europe as an ‘Associate to Watch’ in the practices of ‘Corporate Compliance’ and ‘Corporate Crime’ and has been included in the legal directory Best Lawyers® in the practices of ‘Corporate Governance & Compliance’ and ‘Criminal Defense’ in Madrid.

Laura Pérez has worked for Pérez-Llorca since 2010 and holds a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in addition to an Advanced Course on Corporate Consultancy from the School of Legal Practice at the same university. She is an expert in employment and social security law, and has experience in all fields of employment law, including representing her clients in judicial proceedings before the labour courts, collective dismissals and advice on restructuring processes and subrogation of staff. In addition to being a member of the National Association of Labour Lawyers (ASNALA), she is also a lecturer for the Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Carlos III and at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Álvaro Ramírez de Haro joined Pérez-Llorca in 2006 and holds a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and an MBA from IE. Ramírez de Haro specialises in corporate and financial law, and has extensive experience in advising large clients and private equity funds on M&A, restructuring, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Elena Veleiro holds a Degree in Law and Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In 2008, Elena was admitted to the State Advocate’s Office, having achieved the highest grade of all the candidates in the examinations. She has extensive experience in administrative law, and was previously the director of the legal department at ADIF. Veleiro is an expert in public procurement, regulated sectors and litigation before the public administrations. As well as being a regular contributor to specialist publications, Velerio has been included in the legal directory Best Lawyers® in the practice of ‘Administrative Law’ in Madrid and received the ‘Iberian Lawyer: 40 under Forty’ award in 2017.
