Pérez-Llorca condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine unjustly ordered by Vladimir Putin, which is subjecting its population to extreme suffering and is a frontal attack on the values of the open society on which Europe is built, and on all of us who are part of it.
We support the decisions taken by different institutions to put an end to this cruel war and the humanitarian crisis it is generating. We are reviewing our work with Russian and Belarusian clients or companies to facilitate the rejection of new mandates and the discontinuation of existing ones. We believe that the situation requires us to take steps that go beyond complying with sanctions.
As citizens, we are contributing 100,000 euros in cash as direct financial assistance to Ukraine and its citizens, which we will implement with various humanitarian organisations. This contribution is equivalent to 0.1% of our estimated revenue for 2022. Our aim is to support the Ukrainian population on the ground, as well as those who have become refugees as a result of this situation.
As lawyers, we will help by working with third sector organisations through a pro bono programme set up on an ad hoc basis to enable our professionals to provide legal advice related to the reception of refugees and other support to Ukraine and its people.
As a company, we are aiming to support the integration of Ukrainian refugees in Spain by offering stable and quality jobs.
Our resources are modest, but we are resolved to use them to help the Ukrainian population to defend themselves against the invasion and to remain resilient in the war. We must be with them at this time.
