Pérez-Llorca today announced the appointments of Felipe Alonso, Javier Povo and Antonio Ruiz who, alongside a group of lawyers, will strengthen the firm’s Tax practice area, specifically the areas of tax litigation and private wealth.
Felipe Alonso Fernández joins Pérez-Llorca as Of Counsel. A tax inspector on leave of absence, his more than 40 years of professional practice occupying positions of responsibility in the Public Administration and in various law firms are proof of a distinguished career boasting experience in tax proceedings and litigation, in real estate and commercial transactions and in advising on private wealth. Over the course of his career he has been recognised as an Eminent Practitioner in Tax and Band 2 in Private Wealth Management in the Chambers & Partners rankings, and has been included in the Hall of Fame category for Tax by the international directory Legal 500. Furthermore, he has been singled out by the US publication Best Lawyers® as one of the most outstanding lawyers in the areas of Probates and Estates and Tax, while World Tax has rated him as Highly Regarded in the Tax Controversy and Indirect Tax practice areas.
Javier Povo joins Pérez-Llorca as a Partner. Specialised in tax proceedings and litigation, he has 17 years of experience in national and international law firms in Spain. Povo has extensive experience in advising multinational companies and institutions on their verification and investigation procedures and on economic-administrative and judicial proceedings. He is ranked in different legal directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, under Tax.
Antonio Ruiz, an economist, joins Pérez-Llorca’s Tax team as a senior tax Counsel. With more than 15 years of experience, he specialises in general and real estate taxation, taxation of restructuring transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private wealth and accounting law. He has been recognised by Best Lawyers® as one of the most outstanding professionals in the category of Economist.
