Pérez-Llorca will move its headquarters in Barcelona to the Alta Diagonal Building

Pérez-Llorca, which opened their office in Barcelona in 1995, will move to its new location in the first quarter of 2014. The goal of this change is to respond to the Firm’s strategy for development. “The projected growth for Pérez-Llorca intends to strengthen the activity in the Barcelona office, where 12 professionals are currently employed. Our plans are to increase the number of employees, for which we need new space that is more appropriate for the size we intend to reach,” explain Gerard Serra, partner in charge of Pérez-Llorca’s Barcelona office.

Pérez-Llorca will partially occupy the eight and last floor of the building, which is property of the German real estate fund Deka Immobilien. This is the third site for Pérez-Llorca in Barcelona. 

Consolidated Office

The main practiece areas in Pérez-Llorca’s Barcelona office are Corporta, for which the team has lawyers specialising in M&A transactions, banking and financing, capital risk, real estate, commercial law, corporate restructurings; Litigation and Arbitration; Tax, and Labour.

“In 2013 Pérez-Llorca celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the office in Barcelona celebrated 18 years of serving Catalonian companies and institutions, as well as those from the rest of Spain and from abroad. This relocation is a major turning point for the professionals who work here as well as for our clients, as we are increasing the space in order to offer them better services and client attention, also making it possible to hold more seminars and conferences,” underlines Gerard Serra.

A unique building in Barcelona

Alta Diagonal, located at the heart of Avenida Diagonal, is one of the most emblematic office buildings in Barcelona. Designed by arquitect José Mª Fargas 20 years ago, this structure has high energy efficiency, as the building’s climate system was recently renovated, which allows for lower resource consumption.

In order to adapt these installations to the specific needs of the Firm, Pérez-Llorca was advised by Cushman & Wakefield. Furthermore, Deka Immobilien, which markets and manages the building exclusively, was advised by CBRE.

According to Eva Jodar, Director of the Office Property Agency CBRE, “the building Alta Diagonal is positioned as one of the best office buildings on the market in the city and the most recent transactions closed attest to this fact.”

According to Javier Bernades, Associate Director of the agency Cushman & Wakefield, “as has been the case in the Central Business District, this transaction establishes that the reinvestment to renew and upgrade the office park is welcomed by the users”.
