Pérez-Llorca today announced the appointment of Raquel Blanco as Real Estate Counsel in the Madrid office. Blanco will strengthen this practice area, which is recognised as one of the best in Spain according to the international directories Chambers & Partners (Band 1) and Legal 500 (Tier 1).
A graduate in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad de Valladolid, Blanco has developed her career in international law firms in London’s Magic Circle.
An expert in real estate law, throughout her career she has advised domestic and international clients on acquisitions and transfers of all types of real estate assets (shopping centres, retail, residential, buildings and hotels, among others), sale and leaseback transactions, the creation of real estate joint ventures and construction agreements, financing real estate transactions, the sale and purchase of mortgage and consumer loan portfolios, as well as acquisitions of distressed debt (NPL) and REO portfolios, among others.
She has also been recognised as an ‘Associate to Watch’ by Chambers Europe 2022 in the Real Estate practice and has been featured in the Transactional Track Record (TTR) under ‘Rising Star Dealmakers’, where she was ranked as the most active lawyer in the Spanish real estate sector in 2020.
On the academic side, Blanco is a contributor to the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the author of several articles published in Thomson Reuters.
