Pérez-Llorca announced today the hiring of Yolanda Valdeolivas as a new Of Counsel for the Firm’s Employment practice. The agreement with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid enables Valdeolivas to combine her work at the university with that of the Firm, and strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s employment practice area, which is made up of four partners, one counsel, one of counsel and a multidisciplinary team of lawyers dedicated to employment law.
With a PhD in Law from the Universidad Autónoma in 1992 and experience working as a professor of employment and social security law at the same institution since 2011, Yolanda Valdeolivas has a career in teaching at universities in Spain and abroad spanning over 30 years, lecturing on subjects related to employment and social security law.
She is the author of several teaching materials, the director and coordinator of different postgraduate degrees and has supervised several doctoral theses submitted to the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Valdeolivas is well known for her research and academic work. She is the author of six monographs, in addition to three which were co-authored. She has published numerous articles in specialised journals and joint publications, and is a regular participant in conferences and seminars related to employment law.
Throughout her career at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid she has held various positions of responsibility and management, including being appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the university between 2014 and 2018. After two years as Secretary of State for Employment (2018-2020), Valdeolivas returned to this institution to continue her teaching and research work which, as of today, she will combine with her responsibilities at Pérez-Llorca.
