Royal Decree-law 24/2021, which transposes, among others, Directive 2019/2162 on the issue of covered bonds and covered bond public supervision, has recently been published in the Official State Bulletin (BOE). The purpose of the Decree-law is to regulate the regime for the issue and supervision of covered bonds, establishing their characteristics, disclosure requirements and investor protection mechanisms.
