4. Purpose of data processing

The Users’ personal data shall be collected and processed with the main purpose of managing its relationship with Pérez-Llorca in the following way:

(i) to resolve queries raised by the User through the Website in the “contact” section.

(ii) to manage their candidature in recruitment processes.

(iii) if you expressly request us to do so, to include you in our job bank.

(iv) to send the User legal publications, communications of activities or invitations to events.

5. Types of data

We collect the identification and contact details that you provide us with in order to deal with the request you make (enquiries, applications, sending legal publications, communications of activities or invitations to events). Pérez-Llorca will be able to contact you in order to correctly manage your request.

6. Legitimate interest

The legitimate interest for the processing of Users’ personal data is as follows:

(i) Pérez-Llorca’s legitimate interest in responding to queries raised by the User and to invite the User to the firm’s activities or to send them legal publications when there is a prior relationship with the firm.

(ii) The implementation of pre-contractual measures at the request of the data subject or the intention to conclude a contract for the submission of applications.

(iii) Consent to their inclusion in our job bank, the sending of legal publications, communications of activities or invitations to events when there is no prior relationship.

7. Duration

Pérez-Llorca will collect and process the User’s data on the basis of the purpose for which they have been collected:

  • For the management of our selection processes, we will process the data you provide for the duration of the selection process and, in the event that you expressly authorise us to include your data in our job bank, we will keep it for two years from the time you send us your application.
  • When we handle your data for sending communications, legal publications, activities or invitations to events, we will retain your information until you remove your consent for this purpose or when your relationship with the Firm ends.
  • When you submit a query through our website, we will handle your data during the time required to manage and resolve the query.

Once these time periods have ended, we will keep your data blocked during the term of limitation for any liability that may arise as a result of handling the data, and will only make them available to the competent public administrations, judges and courts.

8. Data reporting

Pérez-Llorca will not report the data collected to third parties, except when strictly necessary in order to manage and maintain the relationship with Pérez-Llorca or with prior authorisation by the User.

Pérez-Llorca has four subsidiaries outside Spain, one in the United Kingdom (Pérez-Llorca UK LLP), one in the United States of America (Pérez-Llorca US LLP), one in Singapore (Pérez-Llorca SGP LLP) and one in Brussels (Pérez-Llorca BRU LLP), although Users’ data will not be transferred to these companies. In the event that it is necessary to report the Users’ data to the subsidiaries, the data subject will be informed accordingly.

9. Security

In relation to the personal data collected, Pérez-Llorca has adopted and shall adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures to ensure its protection and avoid its alteration, loss, handling and/or unauthorised access, taking into account the fast-moving nature of technology, the nature of the data stored and the risks to which they are exposed, in compliance with applicable regulations.

10. Users’ rights

Users have the right to exercise at all times, under the terms provided in the current legislation, the rights of access, rectification or deletion of data, as well as to request the limitation or opposition of the processing or to request the portability of their data.

Also, the Users will be able to revoke the consent given at any time.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

The relationship between Pérez-Llorca and the User shall be governed by Spanish legislation.
